AGRI-CYCLE, the ultimate club for cycling enthusiasts

Many Agriturismi (mainly those located in the Bologna and Ferrara areas due to their terrain) offer services aimed at a particular type of customer who wishes to discover the region by bike.

In these facilities, it is possible to find spaces for the storage of bicycles, equipment for their maintenance, auxiliary services for transporting bicycles and precise indications on cycling routes. Maps of the main cycle paths in the area are also available, as well as other services considered additional to the traditional food and wine and hospitality offers that have always characterised agritourism in Emilia-Romagna.

These places aim to allow tourists to discover the countryside in a new and relaxed way, knowing that they will be able to count on the experience and quality of "bike-friendly" agriturismi.

The Club also offers specific events and services to boost the appeal of lowland areas for cyclists and cycling enthusiasts.

The recognition of the "Club d'Eccellenza" dates back to May 2012. The association was created by 17 agri-tourism operators, thanks to the promotion of Confagricoltura, but it is open to all operators who share its objectives, even if they are not members of the association.

The first agri-tourism "Club d'Eccellenza" in Italy was created in Emilia-Romagna with Regional Law no. 4 of 31/03/2009, which defines the nature and purpose of the Club as well as the procedures and requirements for its recognition by the Region.

First and foremost, the companies that form a Club d'Eccellenza share the spirit of aggregation and the conviction that this can create opportunities for growth and development for both the companies and the realities in which they operate. This can be achieved through the improvement of the services and specialisations that they intend to promote.

The Clubs are not only a boost for the single aggregated realities, but also a driving force for the whole agri-tourism sector and for the enhancement of the "Agriturismo Emilia-Romagna" product, with the awareness that future development of the sector should focus more on quality, professionalism and excellence.
